Biography:
Carly Rae Jepsen was born on November 21, 1985 in Mission, BC, Canada. She first gained recognition when she finished third in the season five of the Canadian Idol and became part of the Canadian Idol Top 3 concert tour.
Shortly after her Canadian Idol stint, she independently released her debut album, Tug of War, through MapleMusic Recordings in 2008. Two years later, she released a new single entitled “Call Me Maybe” on 604 Records, a Canadian label.
The song went on to gain popularity on YouTube, reaching 400 million viewers. Additionally, she earned several awards and nominations, including three Juno Awards and two Grammy Awards nominations.
