Verzuz — Beanie Man vs. Bounty Killer
Beenie Man performs onstage at the 2013 BET Awards at the Nokia Theatre, in Los Angeles. The dancehall icon rocked a cordoroy blazer and turquoise pants for the occasion.
Beenie Man faced his longtime rival Bounty Killer in a dancehall themed edition of Verzuz, which was founded by legendary producers Timbaland and Swizz Beatz. The event garnered over 400,000 viewers in real-time, including the likes of Missy Elliott, Ashanti, Diddy, and many more A-listers. Rihanna — who also hails from the Caribbean — definitely proved she was both Beenie and Bounty’s #1 fan! The star dropped comments throughout the stream, and even had some words for the police when they showed up after Jamaica’s country-wide 8 p.m. curfew. “Tell the police to go hooommeeee,” she hilariously begged, adding, “Come oooonnnn office,” and “let the chune run man.” The duo were able to continue their battle for thousands of fans in Jamaica and beyond.
