‘Good Morning America’ host Lara Spencer attends the Academy Awrads in a pink dress on February 22, 2015.
Lara Spencer was born on June 19, 1969 and is best known for her on-air work as a co-anchor on ABC’s national morning show, ‘Good Morning America.’ Spencer is originally from Long Island, New York and later attended Pennsylvania State University, before working in local news and joining ‘GMA’ in 1999. She was previously married to CNN journalist David Haffenreffer and they have two children, Katie and Duff. The couple later divorced, and Lara went on to marry tech entrepreneur Rick McVey. In 2019, Lara controversially appeared to mock 6-year-old Prince George’s love of ballet dancing in an on-air ‘GMA’ segment. After public backlash — including responses from the dance community and former cast members from ‘Dancing with the Stars’ — Lara issued an apology on her personal Instagram page.
