Normally, the fearsome Simon Cowell, 56, is the one handing out disses left and right, but now, it appears that Niall Horan, 22, has turned the tables on the man who STARTED his pop career! Niall is allegedly ditching Simon’s record label to launch his own career with Universal, according to The Daily Star. Like Zayn Malik and Liam Payne, Niall has chosen to leave the Syco label, and we’re willing to bet that Simon’s ticked! After all, he’s the one responsible for single-handedly raising those small town boys into international superstars. Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam, Niall, and Zayn were nothing but aspiring singers before they teamed up with Simon’s creative empire.

Even without Simon’s help, Zayn has done VERY well for himself. His track “Pillowtalk” skyrocketed to the top of the music charts, AND he scored himself a stunning girlfriend, Gigi Hadid. Meanwhile, Liam recently signed a contract with Capitol Records, and will be releasing new music in no time. We can only hope he’s a success, too. As One Direction continues to crumble before Simon’s eyes, he’s reportedly taken drastic measures to try and convince Niall to stay. Simon has offered Niall big money offers, according to the British magazine, but Universal ultimately made him a pricier offer that he couldn’t refuse.

This news must come as a complete shock to Simon, who’s been eager to announce Niall’s unwavering commitment to Syco. “We are expecting to announce something soon with Niall,” he declared just a few weeks ago, adding, “I’ve always known he’s loyal.” Uh-oh… Guess Niall is turning over to the dark side!
