Biography:

Jessica Chastain was born on March 24, 1977 in Sacramento, California. She was in a dance troupe by the age of 9 and began performing in Shakespearean productions.

She was then encouraged to audition for Juilliard as a drama major. She got a scholarship from one of the school’s famous alumni, Robin Williams.

Her film debut was in the film Jolene. In 2011, she earned an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in The Help. She went on winning the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her performance in Zero Dark Thirty.
