Jason Pass (age 47, October 26, 1976) is a Brooklyn resident who is currently on the run after a terrible incident caught on camera. On Sunday night, he was involved in a horrifying situation where he was seen shooting and killing Bladimy Mathurin, and Mathurin’s stepson, Chin Wai Mode.

The police have been searching for Jason Pass, and they finally found him on Wednesday morning at Bay 44th St. in Bath Beach, Brooklyn. When they tried to arrest him, Pass was carrying a knife, and things got intense. The police ended up shooting him during the confrontation.

A woman, who said she’s Pass’s older sister, explained that there had been an ongoing feud between their family and the Mathurin family. She claimed that Mathurin and his family had threatened their mother and brother before this terrible incident.

On the night of the shooting, Pass went upstairs to talk to Mathurin about the noise and disturbances in the building, like jumping and moving furniture. She believes that the shooting was an act of self-defense.

Things took a turn for the worse as the argument in the hallway escalated, and Mathurin pulled out a pair of scissors. The video shows Pass pulling out a gun with a green laser and shooting Mathurin from behind.

CCTV Footage of Murder

On October 29, 2023, Jason Pass went upstairs to speak with the Mathurin family regarding a noise issue, but the conversation quickly escalated into an argument. The entire incident was captured by a CCTV camera, which later played a vital role in the investigation.

The chilling video shows Jason, dressed in all black, pacing angrily outside his upstairs neighbor’s apartment. Marie Delille, a woman from the apartment, came out and exchanged words with Pass.

Shortly afterward, her son, 27-year-old Chinwai Mode, also appeared in the hallway. Unfortunately, the video lacks audio, so we don’t know the exact content of their exchange.

Moments later, Brady Mathurin, a 47-year-old school bus driver, and Chinwai’s stepfather emerged from the apartment, holding a pair of scissors, and confronted their neighbor in anger.

Pass Pulled Out Gun

Despite his wife’s attempts to intervene, Mathurin pushed her aside. At this critical moment, the verbal dispute took a horrifying turn as the neighbor in black pulled out a handgun and pointed it at Mathurin. Mathurin noticed the gun but dismissed it, turning to walk back to his apartment.

It was then that the neighbor opened fire, hitting Mathurin, who collapsed on the floor. Chinwai Mode, who was also in the hallway, tried to escape from the gunman, but the neighbor fired multiple shots at him, even after he had fallen in a pool of his blood near a staircase.

The suspect then returned to Mathurin, who was still alive and struggling to get up and shot him execution-style right at his doorstep. After taking the lives of the two men, the gunman calmly surveyed the grim scene before stepping into an elevator, which he took down to the street and fled.

The authorities later recovered nine .45-caliber shell casings and five bullet fragments from the hallway. When paramedics arrived at the scene, they found Mathurin and Mode dead from multiple gunshot wounds to their heads and torsos.

According to Marie Delille, her family, originally from Haiti, had been locked in a years-long dispute about noise with their downstairs neighbor.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny mentioned that there had been six previous 311 calls reporting noise complaints from the alleged shooter’s apartment.

Jason Pass Has a History of Violent Crimes
