Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Making The Most Of The Night’ Is Your Late-Summer Jam — Listen

This is what we, in the music-loving industry, refer to as a straight up banger. Carly Rae Jepsen has just dropped a new single, 'Making the Most of the Night,' and it is hotter than the summer nights you're going to spend listening to it. Carly Rae Jepsen is no one hit wonder, and she is going to make damn sure you know it. Her new single, "Making the Most of the Night," dropped on Aug. 7, just in time for the weekend and oh lord is it good. Off her upcoming album, E•MO•TION, the song is equal parts care-free summer jam and anthemic power cut. In other words, why aren't you already listening to it, and then listening to it again on a loop for the next few hours?

“Making the Most of the Night,” is actually the sixth single to be released off the album, following that other mega jam, “I Really Really Like You.” It’s got all the makings of an instant late summer hit, with its coursing techno percussion.

The song’s catchiness and epic sentiment aren’t surprising when we peak behind its curtain: Sia, of “Chandelier” fame (along with a ton of other smash singles which you have no idea she wrote on) is a credited writer.

The entire album has already been released in Japan, however, us poor North Americans have to wait for its stateside release on Aug. 21. In the meantime, we’ll continue to jam out to “Making the Most of the Night,” as well as the other five singles to be released including “Run Away With Me” and the eclectic and funky, “Warm Blood.”

What do you think of “Making the Most of the Night”? Are you as obsessed as we are, or will Carly forever be little Ms. Call Me Maybe?
