Avril Lavigne was born on September 27, 1984 in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. She had appeared on stage with Shania Twain when she was 15, and by the time that she was 16, had signed a two-album recording contract with Arista Records.

Her first album Let Go was released when she was just 17 and since her professional debut, she has become one of the most successful recording artists in the world, selling more than 30 million albums and over 50 million singles worldwide.
