Biography:
Amy Poehler was born on September 16, 1971 in Burlington, Massachusetts. She attended Boston College where she became a member of America’s oldest collegiate improv comedy troupe, My Mother’s Fleabag.
She graduated from Boston College with a bachelor’s degree in media and communications and moved to Chicago to study improvisational theatre at Second City with Tina Fey.
She joined the cast of Saturday Night Live during the 2001-2002 season, where she eventually got promoted from featured player to full cast member in her first season.
As of 2009, she plays Leslie Knope in the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation.
